the History of City Island
Wednesday, September 20, 7:30 PM!
Over the past 350 years, City Island has been renowned for its oyster industry, its boat building and sail making, its historic houses, its inns and restaurants, and even its location as a movie and T.V show site!
On Wednesday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m., the City Island Nautical Museum’s Vice President, Barbara Dolensek, will present a talk on the history of City Island for the East Bronx History Forum. All members of the museum are invited to attend (free of charge) to hear about the history of City Island, from the days when the Lenape people gathered oysters and clams here, to its continuing popularity as a place to dine on seafood.
The organizers, East Bronx History Forum, encourage donations to the City Island Nautical Museum for their hosting the talk.
